Cardiff four piece Future Of The Left make music for the big, brash thinking man. Plenty of rock grunt to throw you off-kilter, but with enough jagged breaks to give your brain time to digest and really start pondering it all.
Since their inception in 2005, Future Of The Left has moved from strength to strength, with massive crowd sourcing projects, transatlantic tours and premieres on international radio. This all comes in anticipation of the band’s forthcoming album, How To Stop Your Brain In An Accident, which they recorded in Monmow Valley Studios in Monmouth and will be releasing on their own label, Prescriptions.
For anyone wondering what to expect this time around, the band themselves set us straight: “if you are alive and even vaguely in love with the idea of rock music being more than an ersatz lifestyle choice then it is clearly their best album yet. yes, they would say that. no, it’s not open to debate.”
The, perhaps mind-blowingly good, new record was funded by the band’s pledgemusic campaign, which started in May 2013 and hit its target within five hours. Anyone who pledged to fund the project will also receive a six-song mini album, as promised by the band in their original statement.
The album doesn’t come out until October, but you grab a listen of new single Bread, Cheese, Bow and Arrow, which recently premiered on Huw Stephens‘ BBC Radio 1 show.
Future Of The Left have also announced their UK tour in support of the new album.
